In diseases such as multiple sclerosis (MS), the body's immune system attacks myelin, resulting in permanent neurological damage. Biogen, hopes the discovery will eventually lead to a new generation of therapies to treat MS. Biogen scientists plan to publish their findings in the June edition of the journal Nature Neuroscience.
